Use Bottom Sediment to Agriculture—Effect on Plant and Heavy Metal Content in Soil

نویسندگان

چکیده

Removing bottom sediment from water reservoirs and rivers can, on the one hand, be an effective method to restore lakes, other - used for plant production, ensuring recycling of nutrients. The aim this research was evaluate possibilities using various types its impact heavy metal content in soil plants. For purpose, a pot experiment carried out white mustard (Sinapis alba) as test plant. total metals (Cd, Cu, Zn, Pb) determined addition all increased soil. results indicate that adding resulted significant increase yield comparison control. highest result direct effect obtained combination with 5% dam sediment, while residual effect, achieved mixture 10% pond sediment. values transfer factor (TF = Cplant/Csoil) high accumulation zinc low lead

Heavy metal contamination in soil and some medicinal plant species in Ahangaran lead-zinc mine, Iran

Ahangaran lead-zinc mining area located in the west part of Iran is a mountainous region. In this study, medical plants and soils from 3 different sites in this area were collected in spring 2012. Soil and medical plants were analyzed for heavy metals [lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd) and copper (Cu)] concentrations using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) optical emission spectrometer (Varian ...

Effect of Bottom Sediment on Content, Bioaccumulation and Translocation of Heavy Metals in Maize Biomass

The research aimed to assess the effect of bottom sediment on the content, bioaccumulation and translocation of heavy metals in maize biomass. The investigations were conducted in 2006-2007 as a pot experiment on light soil of the granulometric composition of weakly-loamy sand. The experimental design comprised 3 treatments: without sediment (I), a 5% sediment admixture (II) and a 10% sediment ...
